As a family man, small business owner, and longtime local, State Representative James Buchanan is invested in the future of Southwest Florida. James has been a real estate agent since 2006, as a broker and small business owner in Sarasota County since 2009. He has served in the Florida House of Representatives for the previous 6 years. James holds a bachelor’s degree from Florida State University with a Double Major in Finance and Entrepreneurship. He continued his education locally, graduating with an MBA from the University of South Florida. James resides in Sarasota County with his wife, Lea, their two daughters and son; Lexington, Caroline, and Jesse.
